Outlook 2003 shuts down immediately after launch

Anyone

When I launch outlook 2003, it appears only for a brief second and then it
shuts down. The only way I can keep it up is to immediately click on the
"forward" button for the brief second is is up, tricky and requires fast
action. This activates the mail forward option and it will stay up.
Otherwise it shuts down. I just did a clean install of the operating system
(XP Pro) on a new hard drive and reloaded everything. This happened on my
old drive also.
