Outlook 2003 shuts down immediately after startup

On my wife's new Vista computer, we've installed our existing copy of Outlook
2003 for email, calendar, etc. Initially, this worked fine. Now though, in
the last several weeks, any time you start Outlook it starts up (seemingly)
normally, shows a reminder for an event in the past, and then shuts down
saying that Outlook has stopped working and that Microsoft will contact me
when they have a fix. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you recently install a "codec pack" containing all sorts of video and
audio codecs?
Roll back your computer to a date before you installed it. Uninstalling it
most often isn't enough.

No, unfortunately I can't think of anything like that that was installed
since we've gotten the computer.

Thanks though.

Let's take the more conventional approach then;
What's being logged to the Event Viewer?
Does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> type; outlook.exe /safe

Additionally reset your reminders via;
Start-> type; outlook.exe /resetreminders
