Outlook 2003 shuts itself down...

HELP, please.

I have installed, removed and reinstalled Office 2003
because of the following problem with Outlook 2003:

When I start Outlook up for the first time - everything
is AOK. After I <file><exit> the program and start it up
again - the program initializes OK and then shuts itself
down automatically. I can't find the answer anywhere and
would appreciate any and all thoughts.
