I have Outlook 2003 on an XP Media Center machine. It has 1 gig of
memory, fast processor, and is standalone. Outlook takes 3 or 4
seconds to move/delete emails, and about the same to move to another
folder.
I have no instant messaging, have removed the speech recognition,
language options, The pst file is 275,793KB. Also, I ran scanpst.exe
and, while it did find errors and correct them, and there was some
improvement, the problem remains.
The only thing I can thing of is that MS Office is installed on the D
drive (a partition) while Windows XP is on the C drive. Would it make
any difference. That is my usual convention, to put applications on
one drive and the operating system on another and it hasn't been a
problem before. But, I'm running out of ideas. (Yes, I could just try
and move the applications, but I'd prefer some experience and
information before making a move since who know what 'could' happen.)
Would appreciate any feedback/suggestions.
