Outlook 2003 - System Tray Icon Unresponsive

When I shut down outlook(final) in my system (XP Pro SP1),
the system tray icon remains on but it's unresponsive!
I have to go to task manager and kill outlook
to get rid of it (everytime!). Any ideas on what may be
causing this? Any Options for disabling outlook's tryicon
function completely?
