Outlook 2003 Upgrade Lost Message Body

D

I used the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" provided in the System
Tools in order to transfer all my old files and settings from my old PC to
my new PC. Generally this was very successful however, there was one snag.
The snag is that I am not able to see the body of the email message. I am
able to open attachments such as PDF and Word files. I am also able to
view all recipients of the message. The file size also identical to the
original file on the old PC. Why then can't I get the body of the message
to show? My guess is that I simply need to turn on something but at this
point I have no clue as to what that is. Any suggestions?

One suggestion is to explicit copy your old PST file to the new PC using
some tool other than the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. A CD burner on
the old machine or a network cable between the two PCs helps here. Make
sure you don't overwrite any PST file with the same name on the new PC.
Then, making sure the PST on the new machine is not marked read-only, try to
open it in Outlook with File>Open>Outlook Data File.
