Outlook 2003 - Use of Spam Filters

I just starting using Time Warner Cable Internet, and they have a free
Computer Associates Internet Suite of programs. One of them is an Anti Spam
program.

When I install the complete suite of products, the result in Outlook is 2
folders for that purpose - "Junk E-mail" and now CA Anti-Spam"; will it
hurt to use both programs, since Outlook 2003 has an anti spam programs as
part of it? Do I even need the CA program, ie, the Outlook program is
better than the CA program? Currently emails show up in both folders.

Would appreciate some guidance. Thanks

It shouldn't hurt to use both, but were it I, I'd tend to stick with
Outlook's own, not because I think the Computer Associates product isn't any
good, but I just don't want anything between Outlook and the mail server.
It has a potential to interfere with the proper communications between
Outlook and the server. If you do decide to rely on the CA product, turn
the Outlook filter off. You won't be able to delete or hide the Junk E-mail
folder, however. Moreover, the CA Anti-SPam folder is just another folder
as far as Outlook is concerned and you won't be able to right-click it and
choose Empty.

I tend to suggest you use one program first to see if it suits your needs.
Use just the Outlook filters first and see if it does the job for you.
