Outlook 2003 will not send

After a new install of outlook 2003 on vista. outlook receives mail just fine
but it doesn't send and the error comes up very quick disappears even
quicker. so may not even realize that you message didn't even send. the error
is: sending reported an error unknown error 0x800cc81. Ive got it working on
two other computers
i thought it was the outgoing server was entered wrong but i retype it:
imap.telus.net any suggestions?

For Outlook 2003/7, the 0x800CCC81 error indicates an invalid e-mail
address. One way to duplicate this error is with an email address of
(e-mail address removed). In this example, the "." right before "@" is what
triggers the error number.

Even if your e-mail address looks to be well formatted (rfc compliant), try
removing and re-adding the mail account.
