Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager

I installed OL 2003 and my system has slowed to a crawl.
During installation .NET software preceded Business
contact manager. In taskmanager it looks like I've got
two applications of sql server running simultaneously.
Does anyone have any resources to improve performance.
This is a 2.0 Ghz computer with 512Mb SDRAM.
