Outlook 2003 won't append dates to outgoing mail

Ijed O

Weird problem here.

I create an e-mail message (or messages) and hit "send".
Message(s) are placed (as they should be) in Outbox.
I hit "Send/Receive" during my next mail run.

Far more often than not, message is NOT sent regardless of how often I hit
"Send/Receive". Occasionally, and so reasons' that are incompletely clear to
me, some messages ARE sent.

When I view the Outbox, messages which are NOT sent are those which have no
dates indicated in the "sent" coloumn.

Even more funny is the fact that I can *forward* these unsent messages to
the original recepient(s) and they are sent without delay.

It appears that for some reason, Outlook is not dating and therefore not
sending some of these messages. It happens more - but not exclusively - with
messages containing HTML characters but has happend with text messages too.

I would appreciate any suggestions for rectifying this problem.

Thanks.

Ijed

What is your Security level for Outlook? Restricted or Internet level ?
What AV mail scanner are you using?
Is java content or active X content in mail disallowed? Many webpages
contain this and cause problems in mail...often for good reason since it
contains spyware links

What does the Log file say for this mail server? Is it enabled? If not try
it...
Outlook: Tools> Options>Other>Advanced Options>> Enable mail Logging
I think this is the log file.

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURLOGINNAME\Local Settings\Temp\OPMLog.log

Hi,
Any word on this issue? I know of three people who have the exact same
problem.
