outlook 2003

I am using my new aol e.mail account with outlook 2003, but since I have
changed over I cannot delete any e.mails.
When I press delete the e.mail grey's out and then a line goes through the
message title.
Any help appreciated

AOL uses IMAP and that's how IMAP accounts work. Messages get marked for
deletion but don't get removeduntil you click Edit>Purge Deleted Messages.
If you don't want to see those messages, use the "Hide Messages Marked for
Deletion" view.
