Outlook 2003

I purchased Outlook 2003 instead of buying a complete
Office package because I was happy with features in Office
2002 but liked the new enhancements in Outlook. Now I find
I can't use Word 2002 as my email editor and my automatic
spell checking and paintbrush formatting doesn't work. Is
there a work around on this?
