Outlook 2007: assigning keyboard shortcut to email editor macro

In Outlook 2003, I had some Word macros for the email editors which were
invoked by keybord shortcuts. I used to be able to define the keyboard
shortcuts for the macros in the Word 2003 toolbar context menue ("customzie").

In Office 2007, I cannot find any way to assign a keyboard shortcut (i.e.,
Ctrl-Alt-U) to my macros.

I want to be able to start a specific macro via specific keyboard shortcut
in the Oulook 2007 email editor. Suggestions are highly welcome.

Mikael, start Word 2007 and open the document which contains the macros you
like to use (the file which worked in 2003) - click large Office icon LH top
- Word Options - Add-Ins/select Manage: Word add-ins/click Go - click
Organizer on bottom LH - copy the Macro Project items from the left pane to
Normal.dotm on the right (this is the same as it was in MO 2003, i think) and
click close .
Again click Word Options and this time select Customize - select Macros from
LH top window - select the macro u want to use and click Customize on the
bottom - select Macros from the LH pane - select the macro and go for your
life.
I also have the Advanced - Save - Prompt before saving Normal template
ticked in Word options.

Les,

thank you for you answer. I am aware of the procedure you describe. The
problem is: In Outlook Email Editor, the "Customize" button is not available
in the Customize Window. This button is only available in Word 2007, not in
Word running as Outlook 2007's Email Editor.

So, how can I assign keyboard shortcuts for my macros in the Outlook 2007
Email ditor? I can't believe that I can't find any wway to get this
accomplished.

Mikael, I see what u mean. I managed to import the macro into Outlook 2007,
but it doesn't work. See posting further down 1/3/2007 "Macro works in Word
2007, but not in Outlook 2007.
I just added my macro to the Quick Access Toolbar with a nice icon, but it
doesn't work in Outlook, but works in Word. It is so f$*#* frustrating!
Is your macro works in Outlook (minus the keyboard shortcut, of course )?

Outlook 2007 is not using Word, it's using a stub DLL that has the email
editing features that were deemed valuable by the Outlook team, which now
owns that DLL. So existing Word macros will not run in the WordMail editor
and you can't do anything about that other than doing something different.

When you say "other than doing something different" what do you have
in mind? Is there some other way to change the key bindings in the
Outlook 2007 editor (possibly via .NET code?)

What I meant was that the Word macros would not run and something different
would have to be done. That would have to be using Outlook macros.
