outlook 2007 beta question?

Sorry cannot find a forum for this question but I have been told by friends
that they cannot open office 2007 files that are sent as attachments from
outlook 2007 Beta. Is there a way round this? Can my friends download an
addin or can I revert to office 2003 without loosing any of my mail,
settings etc etc?

TIA

You might have two different problems here.
1) If the files were created in the native Office 2007 format in Word,
Excel and PPT, then they cannot open them, because earlier versions of
Office simply don't understand those (without a compatibility pack that
is currently in beta as well and hence I would not recommend installing
it widely). You should make sure to save files in Word, Excel, PPT in
the "97-2003 file formats" (extensions doc, xls and ppt) before emailing
them to your friends. If this is your problem, then Outlook is not the
reason for it.
2) It could be that your default email format is Rich Text. Change it to
either HTML or Plain Text and that would solve an issue.

My bet is 1 in your case.
