Outlook 2007, Calendar cannot display

The calendar (and everything else) worked fine for me for some hours, now,
but as I try to open it now, by clicking on the Navigation Pane icon or by
choosing calendar from the "go" menu, it will not display. After a short
timeout, I get the error message that outlook must shut down. Does anyone
have a repair suggestion?

Yes; I've rebooted a few times since the problem occurred. I've also
restarted Outlook a number of times. I've created a new calendar file which
acts the same way, and I've run "scanpst.exe" on the personal folder file
involved. Thanks.
