Outlook 2007 checking for network credentials???

S

Sergej Prokoviev

THIS IS A REPOST TO ANOTHER POSTING THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO
RESOLVE, YET. PLEASE HELP.

I upgraded from Outlook 2003 to 2007. The network user kept getting
locked out after a few times of Outlook checking for email. It looks
like Outlook keeps checking for network credentials, when it
shouldn't??? It should just be checking for the local mailbox user and
be done with it.

I just created another mailbox that has no associated network user. I'm
sure it would get locked out if it were a domain user also. When I was
using "123", which is an existing domain user also, it kept locking it
out.

Here is the failure audit:

Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 529

Then, right after that, I see this:

Event Type: Success Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Account Logon
Event ID: 680
Date: 1/22/2007
Time: 9:25:39 AM
User: ABC-SERVER\123N
Computer: ABC-SERVER
Description:
Logon attempt by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Logon account: 123N
Source Workstation: ABC-SERVER
Error Code: 0x0

I honestly don't think that it has to do with the local machine, but
with the way Outlook2007 talks to the server. I can replicate the
problem on any PC, even one that didn't have Office installed before. I
did check for missing registry files and added what Microsoft said I
needed. Outlook 2003 is fine. Please help!
