outlook 2007 constant repair needed

I'm having a problem with outlook needing to be repaired about once a week.
Sometimes it happens when I'm sending a message and other times when
receiving. The error pops up saying that I need to repair using the scanpst.
When I repair it it works fine, but for some reason it is constantly
getting corrupted and causing me to repair it once a week. I'm just worried
that this could point to a bigger problem. 2007 office was upgraded from
2003. System Specs:

hp pavilion dv9000
vista business SP1 32bit
Duo t5750
4gb RAM

What third party tools are accessing the data file, eg Desktop Search, sync
tools?
You could run your HD manufacturers bootable disk checking utility to test
the integrity of your HD, to be on the safe side
eg SeaTools from Seagate
And, to check your sys memory, www.memtest.org

Make sure that Outlook is closed when you shut down Windows. Check with
task manager that no Outlook process is running before shutdown.
