Outlook 2007 creating duplicate draft messages

S

Swiley

I have one desktop running Outlook 2007 that when a draft is saved it creates
2 copies in the draft folder. If an automatic draft is created after 3
minutes it is a duplicate of the original message and is not removed from the
Draft folder when the original is sent. This started after a Phone Tech
worked on Forms in Outlook on the Desktop. I have looked everywhere I can
think of. I even ran a "repair" of Office 2007. What am I missing?

Thank you for you quick response.

I am not sure what he did because I was not in the room the entire time.

I installed a new Exchange server a couple weeks ago. (Exchange 2003 on
Windows Server 2003) We have Voice Mail into email. After the new Exchange
server the connector for VM needed to be recreated. He did that but the form
to Playback messages in Outlook was not working properly. He used this one
desk to test. The issue turned out to be a registry setting on the VM server.
In the meantime this one desktop now creates duplicates. I created a new
profile. I tried Cached Mode and Not Cached Mode.

It may be something screwy with the windows profile - do you get 2 drafts in
any account opened on this desktop? Do you gets dups in this mailbox if you
open it from other computers?

How long ago did he work on this computer? Will system restore take you back
before this?

It is definately a desktop issue. Logged in as Admin and have the same issue
with the Admin mailbox. Only on this one desktop, the users mailbox is fine
in Terminal Services. I did a system restore back to before the tech worked

Hi Swiley,
Am I following you from forum to forum or was your original postin
just in Google groups and somehow it got reposted? I am fairly new t
these posts as previously i could never bother with the registratio
process as it was too cumbersome. now i see the advantages of postin
problems. Anyway, just wanted to reconfirm that I too have the sam
identical problem (except that I only have 1 duplicate email which i
stored in the "draft" folder) which started out to be a serious an
embarrassing problem until I realized that the original email had bee
sent! Imagine having to go to your client and asking them if the
received my original email! The strange thing is, when "sending an
receiving", this draft message doesn't budge! Also, it is not exactl
the same as it is a copy of the "sent" email at some point before it
completion. Please let me know if and when you get any helpful respons
to this problem. Good luck to both of us. (and please let me know if yo
did actually post in all or just one forum
