Outlook 2007 + Gmail: Fail

B

I've been successfully using Outlook 2007 with GMail for years. Today,
however, Outlook stopped downloading new messages from the GMail servers. In
addition it keeps downloading about 350 OLD messages from last April with
EVERY Send/Receive. I've run the PST repair tool thinking that I might have a
problem with the file and it did, indeed, fix some errors. Still, Outlook
exhibits this bizarre behavior. I'm using the POP3 interface to GMail. Oh,
and one more thing: The old messages that it's repeatedly downloading aren't
even in the Inbox on the GMail server. They're in the All Mail folder. I
don't get any errors at all. I'm about at my wits end and any ideas would be
much appreciated.

The All mail folders is the folder outlook sees, unless you have Gmail
configured to only make the new messages available for download. Confirm
your settings haven't gotten changed at gmail. I'd probably try a new
profile to see if the problem is fixed.
