"Outlook 2007 has encountered a problem"

Fist hickup in 3 1/2 months. Outlook 2007 stopped working and said that it
had to restart, I replied OK. On the restart, it attempted to use a .pst
from the default location. On this Vista Ultimate, I have the .pst in a
folder under Documents for easy back up.

I closed Outlook and on reopening it went to the correct .pst. Is there a
setting that will enable the .pst to be located on the recovery?

You have checked Control Panel->Mail Icon->Data Files and ensured that it is pointing to the correct .pst file? Where is the one it opened by mistake? If you delete that one, what happens?
