Outlook 2007 - how to keep the selected message at the top after s

Hello,

When I have a message selected in the message list in Outlook 2007, and then
I click on any column header to change the sort order, my selected message
appears at the bottom of the newly-sorted list. This is completely different
from the behavior in Outlook 2003, where the selected message would move to
the top of the newly-sorted list.

How can I get the old behavior?

Thanks,
Adam

Unless I'm misunderstanding your description it seems to me that the message
will go to wherever it sorts on the list. I.e. if you're sorting by subject
and your currently selected message has a subject that starts with a "C" it
will sort to part way down in the list (assuming you have "A" and "B"
subjects)

What field are you sorting by? The select message should sort within the
proper order for the field you choose.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your response!

You're correct in that the sort stays in alphabetical order (or whatever the
sort order is), but what I'm describing is the position of the selected
message within the window.

Perhaps a diagram will help:

Outlook 2003's old behavior immediately after a sort while a message is
selected:
------------------------------
**selected message**
other message
other message
other message
other message
other message
--------------------

Outlook 2007's new behavior in the same case:
--------------------
other message
other message
other message
other message
other message
other message
**selected message**
-----------------------------

I would like for Outlook 2007 to operate like Outlook 2003 in this case.

Thanks,
Adam
