Outlook 2007 mapi32 file is missing or corrupt

I have never used outlook on this system and went to add an account to
it finally and when I opened it open received this error during the
account creation process. Each time I open it now I receive that
error. I first tried the fixmapi.exe which did not work. I renamed
the mapi files in windows/system32 and restarted outlook. nothing. i
uninstalled outlook and installed it again. still same error. i dont
know what else to try on it now.

Any ideas on how to solve this would be great.

Outlook 2003/7 place their messaging support dlls at:

Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\<LANGID>

Might try renaming the dll at this location and then do a detect/repair on
Office/Outlook 2007 via the Add/Remove program applet in the control panel.
