I would like for items I flag in my email, to go to my task list
automatically. I have tried creating a rule for it, but it has not worked.
Can someone please help me with this?
Thank you!

You really need to go to the Office 2007 and research your many questions.
There are good tutorials and many tips there. Office Help file is Online and
can answer many questions. Rules do not work after the mail has arrived and
been read. You must do it yourself. Drag the email to your Calendar or Task
List and set it up yourself.

How could a rule do that? It can't know what you want as the task to
subject, it can't know if there are start and end times, it can't know the
due date, it can't know the importance. Without intervention from you,
there's nothing a rule could do.

they won't go to the task list unless you create a task, but they should be
on the to-do list, which is a special task folder for flagged items.

I always make sure I research before I post. I not only researched your
website but other forums as well. No where have I been able to find specific
answers to the questions I have asked. That is why I asked them. The last
part of your answer was very helpful, thank you.

Brian, how was I supposed to know that I wasn't missing a trick in the
software that could allow that to happen. Like an if/then situation that
could be set up such as..... if you click on the follow up flag then move
item to task folder.... There are many rules and filters that I have created
that work very well without intervention from me except for making the rule
or filter the very first time.

Brian, you give good information, but the way you present your responses are
very demeaning. Just state the facts and leave out the "how could a rule do
that?....or why would you want to do that... etc. Most of us are not
technical people like you and are just trying to do the best we can.

That is GREAT information. Thank you for making that clear. What is the
difference between "To do" and "Task"?
