There should be specific instructions for idiotproofing the free trial of
Office 2007 regarding the installation of Outlook. I have Outlook 2002.
After struggling for more than 4.5 hours, I had to make an assumption: one
cannot install with either an older version of Outlook on the drive, ANY
version on the drive, or on a Sunday (this one being New Years Eve). To
help, I deleted my copy of 2002. Now, since 2007 will not load, I cannot use
my Outlook.PST. I realize that I am an idiot for deleting this program (I do
not have the install disk any longer, which was the primary reason for taking
advantage of the free trial). However, there must be a light at the end of
the tunnel.
Could this tie into the reasons other users were asking for FREE copies of
2003? If so, it would have been much easier for the host company to allow
earlier versions of Outlook access to the trial download.
My qustions:
1. How can I download Outlook 2007?
2. What can I do to get back into my .PST file?
