Outlook 2007 Offline Email Viewing Question

L

Loren

I want to download all the content of my emails (pictures, content, text,
graphics, etc.) so I can view them at a later time when I am offline and not
connected to the internet. Right now, when I view my emails offline, I
cannot see
anything but some text and I have to go back online to view them in their
intended way as they were sent.

And the intended way was that the pictures were being retrieved from a web
server. This is done when you first open that email. When you're offline,
you're out of luck. Downloading external items directly upon receiving of
the message is not possible.

Ok, but after I have opened the email "online" and downloaded the pictures,
how can I "keep" them so when I do go offline, I can view them later? Thank
you for your reply above!

When you double click to open the mail, retrieve the external pictures and
then close the email, Outlook will ask if you want to save changes. Click
"Yes" and the pictures will be embedded.

Sorry to be a pain, but when I double click to open the mail and the pictures
download, when I close, it does not ask me to save. I there a special way
that I tell Outlook to retrieve the external pictures to save? Thanks again
for your help, I can see you are a busy person in this newsgroup! Loren

There shouldn't be anything special about it. You're opening the email in
it's own window and not in the Reading Pane. Clicking on the Info Bar to
choose for download pictures should trigger the Save prompt unless you have
things set to automatic download web content (which I would recommend not to
do). You can always force a save by pressing the Save button or CTRL+S.
