Outlook 2007 Offline when using aol address

I have 4 addresses coming to outlook 2007. Sometime when trying to open or
delete an e mail in the aol address it will not do so as it says in the
bottom right Offline. Sometimes that does not show and I can delete etc.
How do I make it not be offline.
