Outlook 2007 Problem

Hi,
My outlook cannot connect to Exchange server through VPN.
I can ping and can run SAP remotly but Outlook is really panic for me...
help me please.......

I am having this same issue. I can access all my company resources (the
shares I need) the exchange server name resolves correctly, I just can't
connect to may mailbox.

I get the message "The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft
Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to tcomplete
this action."

Help us Microsoft.... You're our only hope....

If you want Microsoft to help you, you should contact Microsoft
support. Operators are standing by. Although Microsoft people pop up
here occasionally, this is a public newsgroup for users.

This is a BCM newsgroup. You will probably have better luck on an
Exchange newgroup. However, "name cannot be resolved" issues are
usually network configuration matters. You should talk to whomever set
up your VPN.

You can edit your hosts file to point the exchange server to it's ip address.

So, open your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in notepad and add a
line that looks like:

10.1.1.1 EXCHANGEHOST

Where the IP address is that of the exchange server and EXCHANGEHOST is that
server's name.
