Outlook 2007 - sending to multiple distribution lists without message duplication to addresses in co

Folks,

We have multiple large distribution lists of contacts with external email addresses.

When sending email to 2 or more DL's it is highly likely that quite a few contacts belong to several DL's, and of course they receive multiple copies of the same message depending on how many DL memberships they belong to.

Is it possible for Outlook to programmatically detect this situation and only send the message once to that contact?

If not, then is anyone aware of what Outlook Addons or applications that can manage this?

All suggestions are appreciated.

Cheers,
..Al

Have you tried this? Try sending a message to yourself - four or five
times.
To: (e-mail address removed),[email protected],[email protected] , etc

You should only get one copy.

I'm not aware of any addins that can prevent this and outlook can't
detect it - it just knows the addresses on the list.

If its an Exchange DL, only one message should be sent per address. If
you have an different account type, you may need to remove the addresses
yourself.

Shouldn't matter if it's an exchange DL or not - almost every mail
server is smart enough to not deliver multiple copies of the same
message to the same recipient.

Try it, e-mail yourself to: (e-mail address removed), (e-mail address removed) , cc:
(e-mail address removed) , bcc: (e-mail address removed)

You should get one copy of the message.
