Outlook 2007 shows "sending 6 of 6" when onlyl one being sent.

My Outlook 2007 frequently shows a message that says "sending 6 of 6
messages" when in fact I am only sending or forwarding one message to
one recipient.

I have set the account up NOT to respond to read receipts, so that
shouldn't be what is causing this (i.e., it could be sending read
receipts to spam that I receive but I doubt it unless it is over-riding
my preferences.)

I have fears that it is spamming (?) w/o my knowledge, but all scans
for trojans or virsuses are negative. Any ideas?

How many accounts are in outlook? There is a bug where it can't count
correctly. If you have 6 accts, this is probably the cause.

Are any of the accounts IMAP and if so, do you (or the server) delete junk
mail outside of outlook? There is a bug that causes outlook to send not read
receipts. The people who are affected usually have a lot more than 6
receipts go out.

I do have six (6) email accounts in my Outlook, all POP3. Is there a
patch from Microsoft for this bug? Should I even worry about it?

Thanks much. Bob

I believe it's fixed in the SP2 update (available now as the Cumulative
update from Feb) but other than being wrong and confusing people, its not
something to worry about.

See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/sp2.asp for links to the CU.

I have a similar problem. I go to send one e-mail and I see Sending 3 of 3
or something like that. I just live with it ... and my Outlook 2007 is up
to date, by the way.

I believe I first saw this glitch when I either reinstalled Outlook or did a
diagnostic where I was prompted to reinstall using the original disk.

At least I'm not alone with this. Dave Horne
