Outlook 2007 will not deploy

I've been reading the threads from lots of different conversations in this
Office Discussions Forum and my initial observation is that I am not alone in
having significant problems with Outlook 2007. My particular installation
involved me uninstalling all of my Office 2003 programs by using the
Add/Remove Programs button in the Control Panel.
I then installed Office 2007 Professional Plus as a "trial download" which
was then made WGA Certified by Microsoft. Microsoft instructed me to use this
method to install Office 2007 Professional Plus, so I would have hoped that
they knew what they were telling me, and that all applications would be fully
compatible with Windows XP Professional.
At the present moment, I have not checked all of the different applications
that I possess, only Word, Excel, Access, Visio and Outlook have been opened
at any point. I may have caused compatibility issues with Outlook by trying
to link Outlook to my MSN account, instead of linking it to my actual ISP.
Whatever the case, when I try to open Outlook 2007, I get a message advising
that certain files are damaged and that using the "detect and repair" feature
should resolve the problem.
The funny thing is that when I click on that button, the tool appears to be
trying to repair Microsoft Visio and it does nothing to make Outlook work in
any way. My question is: should I dump everything in the Office 2007 programs
that I downloaded and try to reinstall?
I also have a virgin copy of Office Ultimate 2007 which I am trying to avoid
using, obvoiusly if I can get my installed version to work. Are there any
MVP's who might have a suggestion that will fix my issues?
