i RECENTLY PURCHASED A DELL INSPIRON LAPTOP WITH VISTA. I CAN NOT RECEIVE MY
EMAILS, ALTHOUGH I CAN GET MY EMAIL ON MY DESK TOP. I OPENED TOOLS ON MY
DESKTOP AND MADE SURE THE SETTING WERE RIGHT. CAN ANYONE HELP?

Slow down! Take the caps lock off!
Are you saying that while you can receive emails on your desktop computer
you cannot receive any on your laptop? Dud you test the email account
setting on your laptop? (The "Test Account Settings" is in the Email Account
setup dialog box.)
Try that first and post back the results.

2. Call your ISP and ask them to help you check your settings.

You would need to set the both mail accounts, on both PC's to leave a copy
on the server, for xx days, otherwise, and I assume a pop mail account, all
mail will be downloaded to the desktop, or whichever mail app you opened
first.

Within Outlook on the Dell Laptop use the test accounts option (with your
desktop mail app closed)
