Outlook 2011 - Can't crosslink

Ages ago I had Outlook '97. You could embed and/or hyperlink between
e-mail, contacts, and calendar. I just bought 2011 for Mac and you
can't do that at all any more. Am I missing something? Is there an
add-on which does this? Thanks.
