Outlook 2k7 - Search does not work

D

Dan S.

Nope, not at all. Fresh install of Windows, Office 2007, and allowed the
suggested desktop search 3.0 beta preview which completed successfully.

I try to search by any common item, name, subject, or even a generic search
with any word. Nothing comes up at all for results.

Follow these instructions:
1- Open your outlook
2- Tools --> Options --> Search Options, Select all datafiles you see in
that window and then click ok.
3- Restart your outlook and let us know if your problem resolved.
Thanks.

This does'nt solve.
In fact if I try to search something, for example, in the incoming folder,
it does'nt find anything.
Selecting the "search in All Mail Items" finds something, but only very old
messages, not recent.

Problem doesn't exists.
It's only a question of time.
I had to wait for several hours allowing Searching engine to index all my
Outlook messages.
The index status is not available, so we don't know what it is doing and at
which percent of indexing it is.
And, if I correctrly understand, indexing is active ONLY if Outlook is active.
This make a big difference in rispect to, for example, Copernic Desktop
Search, which is able to directly index Outlook pst's, with Outlook closed.
Another difference is that Copernic gives precedence to new messages, so you
have all your today's messages already indexed, while in background it is
indexing the past ones.
I noted that the new engine does not index the content of Acrobat attachments.
