Have you tried running scanpst.exe yet? It might fix your problem without
having to create a new mail profile.
In Outlook, choose File - Data File Management. Double-click on the data
file listed as Default. In the Personal Folders dialog, click in the
Filename: field and select what you see there. Press Ctrl+C to copy it to
the clipboard.
Close Outlook. Open Windows Explorer and go to:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12
Double-click SCANPST (might show as SCANPST.EXE depending on your settings).
For "Enter the name of the file you want to scan," press Ctrl+V to insert
the contents of the clipboard.
Click Start.
It will then scan your .pst file in 8 phases. When done, make sure that
"Make backup..." is enabled, and click Repair.
Once done, start Outlook and see if the problem(s) still occur.
If problems still occur, see the following article for details on creating a
new mail profile:

Thank you for your assistance. I will try your suggestions. Question: how
do
I do this: "You'll also need to either a) point the new profile
at your existing .pst file, or b) copy your .pst contents to the new one
that gets created." ?
Really appreciate your help. I purchased this new Dell with Vista 7 in
March
07 and I should not be having problems already with software. Dell and
ISP
technicians told me that they could not help unless hardware problem (so
much
for additional purchase of 24hr tech support). so thank you.
