Outlook 97 compatible with WIN XP - H.E.???

Hi,
Before loading Office 97 Pro onto my new WIN XP HOME EDITION system, I
went into MSCONFIG and set it to run WITHOUT ANY STARTUP PROGRAMS, and
restarted the system. Office then proceeded to load, and completed
with no apparent problems.

When I clicked on Outlook, I received a cryptic erro message stating
that OUTLOOK could not run be run, and requested that I shut it down,
and offered to SEND the error details to Microsoft. None of the data
it showed made any sense...more like code than anything else.

Is there something wrong with the disk or is it not compatible with
XP??

Did you create a mail profile and install your mail account before opening
Outlook? 97 is a pretty poor mail client and has improved exponentially
since Office 97. Be sure to install the Office SPs and SRs, especially the
ones to do with Outlook.
