Outlook 98: E-mail blockage

Hello,

I have been using Microsoft Outlook 98 (for nearly four
years)and now my e-mail cannot be downloaded. It has been
lining up (queued) for two days. My instruction/owner's
manual provides no information for removing mail that
causes blockages.

This is the first time that this problem has arisen.

Kindly tell me how to unblock my messages so that they
will download properly. This problem is also resulting in
a slowing in my use of the internet.

How many items in your Inbox?

How big is your Personal Folders file?

The reason that I ask is that Personal Folder files have limits and mail
might not download if you have exceeded the storage limit.

If it really is a stuck message on the server, you can use something like
magic mail monitor (http://www.geeba.org/magic/) to peruse and delete items
off the server. If you don't want to go this route, your ISP can help
remove messages as well or perhaps suggest you access your mailbox via a web
browser so you can deal with it directly.
