Outlook 98 preview & spam

Sorry, previous post incorrectly stated OE 98...Should be Outlook 98! Does using "preview" for spam mail generate additional like spam mail? If so, how can the "preview" be disabled? I've looked throughout 'help' and cannot find anything about disabling this feature. Thanks for any help...I'm drowning in spam!!
