Outlook Achiveing does not work

I am trying to archive a users old emails due to them having a very large
inbox...

However when I run an archive - it completes very quickly and when I expand
the archive I have the users folder structure but no emails. There are emails
that are in the specified date and they are not being archived..

can anyone advise.

Archive moves items based on their "modified" date....that's the usual
cause. Why not just create another PST file and manually move the items you
wish?

Is there a way to change the archive settings to "date received" instead of
"modified" date? If you move items from your inbox to folders, it changes
the modified date to the current date.

Yes. Set the "archive items older than" date to tomorrow's date when you
select archive from the file menu to avoid the modified date trap.
