outlook address book

When i look for email address in my address book (not
contacts) the names are NOT in alpha order. However they
are when i go directly to address book to add a new name.
What's up with this????

You provided no information that would permit anyone to answer your
question. At a minimum you would need to provide:
1. Outlook version
2. The precise steps you used to access the Outlook Address Book. "look for
email address" and "go directly" tell us nothing.

You need to know that the address book is not the interface for adding
entries. The Contacts Folder is. The address book is merely a view of your
Contacts Folder.
