I use Outlook Express and often a bit of spam will 'block
the pipe' and prevent all mail behind it downloading. I
have tried message rules but they don't solve it. I run
McAfee anti-virus but that doesn't help, because Outlook
still tries to download the mail from the server. I have
contacted my mail providers, but all they can do is
delete the spam from the server each time it occurs, and
they're unable to do that at certain times - e.g.
weekends - and there must be another solution.
I might go for a day or two with mail downloading just
fine then a block will occur.
Any suggestions greatly received.
p.s. I have tried Eudora but the block occurred at the
same piece of mail - I have tried Mailwasher, that
blocked at the same place. I've tried old and up to date
versions of Outlook and Outlook Express, and tried from
different computers. If I use my work Mac it can download
the mail fine. It's a pain, because means that at
weekends I can't get mail on my PC and have to go into
work to download it.
