Outlook and hotmail not working

i can't get Outlook to get my hotmail email anymore. it worked fine yesterday and today it's buggered. i didn't do anything between yesterday and today with the computer so i have no clue what the heck is going on. i had this same problem before and i ended up having to format my computer. i don't want to do it again. i get this error message when i try to send/receiv

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error (0x80004005) : 'An unknown error has occurred. Please save any existing work and restart the program.

i can find the error code and basically the same message in the knowledge database but the problems stays like it i

any suggestions?

Having problems with multiple users & a similar issue. Cannot send
e-mails from Outlook hotmail. If they do go, taking a very, very long
time.
