Outlook and Word Crashing due to Virus Cleanup

Both my Outlook and Word apps are crashing after having
gotten an IRC Trojan Horse virus that was then cleaned up
by Norton Anti-Virus. After the cleanup by NAV, the apps
atarted to crash. The applications are fine, as when the
computer is started in SAFE mode they work quite fine. It
is when the computer is run and the apps are started, they
immediately crash with an error message that "Oulook.exe
or Word.exe have generated errors and will by shut down.
An error report is being generated."

Any ideas on what to do??? I am running Windows 2000
5.0.2195 SP4 Build 2195

You might have to reinstall both apps as sometimes viruses can infect the
files used by both (or indeed any apps).

My computer is having a similar problem. My Word 2000 app
will not open and i get an error message. I can open word
documents in WordPad, but the computer freezes with Word
and I get a WinWord error message "system dangerously low
on resources", any suggestions?

Are you sure that your system is cleaned and all altered files restored to
their original configuration? You might want to look at Symantec's site,
find your particular virus/worm/trojan and make sure you follow their advice
for cleaning your system/restoring your files.
