Outlook and Word

I just had to reinstall Office XP and know, when I open Outlook a blank MS
Word page come onto the screen. When I delete the page The Outlook screen is
there. I uninstalled the office xp and reinstalled the program and the same
thing happens. Is there any way I can get rid of this annoying problem
