Outlook auto-print

emailing son

My aging father refuses to learn outlook for email because he says it's too
complicated. Isn't there a way to create a rule in Outlook that will
automatically PRINT certain emails (eg from me)? He loves getting a FAX
because it prints for him without any interaction. I'd gladly set up a PC
for him with a printer so that certain messages that meet the rule criteria
would print automatically for him. Outlook 2003.

See tools, rules wizard - or look at mapilab.com or sperrysoftware.com for
addins that provide advanced printing options .

Has he tried Outlook Express? It's less complicated than Outlook and ideal
if he doesn't need the other features in Outlook.

FWIW, I would never force any of my relatives to use Outlook unless they
needed calendars/contacts/tasks. It's just not worth it - because, like your
father says, it's too complicated for people who just want a simple email
client. I would much rather use OE for some email accounts so I know enough
about it to answer their questions.

Thanks a ton Diane, I tried the auto print add-in from MAPILAB. It works
exactly as I hoped. Now I'll download it onto his machine and set the rules.
Great to have a community of sharp people.
