Outlook auto reply without exchange server

I need to emulate "Out Of Office Assistance" with rules and have setup a
template and the rule but how does the template associate to the senders
email address? I don't have anything in the "to" box of the template so how
does the rule associate to the senders email address to reply to?

I think the rule will just send the templated item back to the From address
of the mail item being replied to.

You only use the template for the message body. Outlook uses the From
address in the message it is replying to. Note there is a bug in Outlook
