In case my concern was read and pondered, I wanted to let the community know
that I have resolved the 'Case of the Deleted Outlook Bar' and all the
shortcuts. After the initial panic subsided, I remembered the Program Files
folder that Outlook resides in. So I opened the Program Files folder, then
the Microsoft Office folder, Office folder, Shortcut Bar folder, Office
folder and VOILA (sp?) there were the shortcuts. I then opened Outlook,
created a new group- Outlook Bar and dragged and dropped all the shortcuts I
wanted. After that I tested them all and only one, New Office Document,
wouldn't open. With that one I was prompted to insert the Office
installation disc so that it could "gather required information". When that
process was complete, New Office Document opened and worked as it should.
So, again, the lesson learned here is first, DON'T PANIC, second, DON'T
PANIC and third, USE YOUR BRAIN! (yeah, but that hurts). Remember, it's only
a computer.
