Outlook blocking .exe files.

Peter Krüger

Hi everyone.

I'm sorry to bring this up, at it may have been discussed prior to my
posting.

But I'm expieriencing problems when recieving files with extension
*.exe. Outlook won't open them or give me the possibility to save them
to disk. I run Outlook 2003 SP1 and XP Pro SP2 and am aware of that
these installs do something to extensions.

But I've tried to "unlock" this feature, but can't find anything about
it in help files or on Microsoft's support pages...

Help me, please.

regards.

Hi,

I too am having problems trying to save or even open exe.
files using outlook 2002.

I have also checked microsoft's support pages as well as
outlooks help and cannot find any info on this matter at
all.

If anyone has a clue as to how to get around this post it!

Then use Google to find out. It has been asked (and answered) numerous
times.

I'm sorry - I've tried that, but without luck apparently. Otherwise, I
wouldn't be asking here, would I?

You'd be surprised. A Google search with "block executable" as the search
string turned up the answer in the very second match. Obviously you didn't
try very hard.
