Outlook blocks access

C

Chris Whitehead

I am trying to sync my large address book in Outlook with
my phone using Bluetooth. When I open the connection
Outlook tells me an application is trying to open Outlook
& allows a maximum of 10minutes to get the information it
requires. Unfortunately that's not enough time for my
phone to sync all the contacts.

Can I disable this feature on a temporary or permanent
basis?
or can I increase the maximum allowed time currently
offered by Outlook.

Any help gratefully received

Chris

Check with your synchronization tool vendor for a newer version that avoids
the security prompt.

Well, since you asked, it's because I'm waiting to see if the next version
doesn't slow down my system to an unusable crawl like the one I tried this
week. After reading the documentation, I am also unconvinced that this
solution is appropriate for the average user who won't read the
documentation

Hi Sue,

Why you not recommending (as an option) trying of our freeware Advanced
Security add-in? It should solve this problem.

Of course, this product is in BETA state, but we have no bug reports yes
(but a lot of thanks ;-).

It was so slow while I was working -- doing nothing strenous -- that I had
to remove the add-in.

Regarding the documentation, my concern is that people won't read it at all,
won't understand what they're doing with your tool, and will wind up with an
insecure system.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your answer! We are really received a few reports about
slowing down after Advanced Security installation. It is strange: add-in
is subscribed to Explorers collection to add menus and... that's all
(except few patches in memory at loading time). I'm thinking about it
and can't reproduce. Your Outlook was slowing down at startup time only
or during the work?

Regarding documentation, I think that it is better to read it once than
click Yes forever ;-)
