Have several recurring daily calendar items: daily, weekly & monthly. Need
to leave as is but mark complete when done. DO NOT WANT TO USE TASKS FOR
THIS.

There is no feature that allows marking a calendar item as complete in the
same way a task can be marked complete. You can, however, create a category
named "Complete" and assign it to the calenddar items.
