I have an unusual problem - maybe someone can help me out.
First the background:
I am using Outlook 2003 with HTML as the mail format. In Mail Format ->
Fonts, the font Arial is selected both for composing and for
replying/forwarding. It is also the proportional font in the
international fonts settings. I have the setting "Use my font when
replying to and fowarding messages" selected.
In Internet Explorer, Properties -> General -> Fonts, a different font,
"David" is selected as the default font.
Now the problem:
When I recieve a message, and begin typing the reply, the text of my
reply appears in the Arial font. But after a few minutes of typing, or
if I do an action like sending the message, the font of all of my text
switches suddenly to David. In order for me to change it back to Arial,
I need to select all of the text and change the font.
Interestingly, when I look at the HTML source of the message, before I
manually change back the font the font tag looks like this:
<FONT color=#800080 size=2>
and afterwards it looks like this:
<FONT face=Arial color=#800080 size=2>
Therefore, my assumption is that Outlook ignores the font that I
choose, and instead takes the default font from IE, which in my case is
David.
Is there anyway to prevent this behavior? It's pretty frustrating.
Thanks,
David Curwin
